Target Audience
This accredited continuing education activity is designed for nurses, nurse practitioners, administrators, and other interested members of the healthcare team who provide or support preceptorship or clinical instruction to new employees or students.
Educational Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participants should be better able to:
- Explain the significance of professional identity in nursing and its impact on enhancing patient outcomes and professional practice across all levels of nursing.
- Discuss innovative delivery strategies of preceptor content based on learner preferences and scope of practice.
- Explain precepting competencies, roles, and administrative supports that are essential for functioning, assessment, and development of the preceptor.
- Identify workforce trends across healthcare settings and how these impact on preceptor development and functioning.
