Free, online, nurse practitioner preceptor course to teach clinical skills

We are excited to announce the MCIRN PRIME NP Preceptor Program, an interactive, free,  online training designed for Nurse Practitioner preceptors. PRIME NP is a competency-based education model developed by Dr. Rita D’Aoust of John Hopkin’s University, specifically for nurse practitioners. This model helps nurse practitioner faculty and preceptors to have objective expectations of how a nurse practitioner student should be progressing towards achieving the full scope of nurse practitioner competencies in the clinical setting.

By the end of the program, trainees will be able to:

  • Apply evidence-based strategies to clinical challenges when precepting, grounded in a PRIME NP competency-based education model.
  • Demonstrate enhanced communication and leadership skills in clinical and precepting settings, derived from practical scenarios and real-world challenges.
